Job SummaryLead people to take their Next Steps in their faith journey; Church Membership, Life Groups, and Serving, by casting vision for and organizing the volunteer teams and connection systems that make Cottonwood Creek a friendly, welcoming place to belong and grow.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and lead the vision and strategy for helping guests and members take their Next Steps: Church Membership, joining a Life Group, and Serving.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd volunteers to ensure every Worship Service volunteer role; Ushers, Door Greeters, Connect Wall Host, and others, is filled each week.
  • Cast vision to the congregation for serving and connecting, and lead volunteer leaders with clarity, encouragement, and accountability.
  • Guide guests and members toward the Next Step that fits their season, personally connecting them to Life Groups, serving opportunities, membership, and giving.
  • Partner with Children's and Youth Ministry leaders to identify and refer volunteers whose passions and gifts fit better in those ministries; not directly responsible for leading those volunteer teams.
  • Own the Sunday guest experience: greet, host, and follow up with guests to ensure a positive first impression and a clear path to their next step.
  • Build and maintain simple, systematic tools to track volunteer coverage, connection activity, and Next Step progress.
  • Collaborate cross-ministry to communicate volunteer needs and connection opportunities, and to coordinate a unified guest and assimilation experience.

 

 

Requirement

Job Requirements and Personal Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience recruiting, organizing, and leading volunteer teams in a church or comparable setting.

Job Skills: Proven ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers, and to organize systems that keep ministry areas fully staffed. Strong vision-casting and communication skills. Ability to build simple processes for tracking connection and volunteer engagement. Must be dependable, organized, and professional.

Personal Qualifications: Must be a mature, growing follower of Jesus Christ with consistent evidence of fruit in their personal life. Outwardly visible love and joyful passion for God and people. A desire to fulfill Ephesians 4:12 to equip others to serve and develop leaders. Motivated to help people take their next step of faith. Ability to consistently use good judgment. Must possess a friendly, welcoming, and shepherding interpersonal manner.

Other Information:

  • Work Schedule: Primarily Sunday-Thursday, including all Sunday Worship Services and special events. 
  • If not currently licensed, you will be required to take our licensing class to become a licensed minister.
