Description

Gwinnett/Walton Habitat for Humanity is a faith-based housing organization with a reputable home maintenance and repair program dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions to homeowners. We specialize in a wide range of repair services including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry and general handyman tasks. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Handyman to join our team and contribute to our mission of assisting income eligible homeowners who are unable to complete repairs on their own due to age, finances, or physical ability. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting home repair and maintenance tasks including but not limited to plumbing, electrical work, light carpentry, painting, and general handyman duties.
  • Inspecting homes to identify issues and develop repair plans.
  • Performing repairs efficiently and effectively while ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Troubleshooting problems and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Communicating with clients to understand their repair needs and provide recommendations.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations while performing repair tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate records of repairs, materials used, and time spent on each job.
  • Collaborating with other team members to complete larger projects or assignments.
  • Keeping well-informed of industry trends, techniques, and best practices to continually improve skills and knowledge.
  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction with completed repairs.

Requirement

  • Proven experience as a Handyman or similar role.
  • Proficiency in a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, light carpentry, painting, and general handyman skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor as required.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in home repair or related field is a plus.
