World Gospel Outreach is looking for the right person to join our team as a Social Worker at Rancho Ebenezer. The Social Worker’s role will be to support and educate Mentor Parents, Ebenezer Academy, Children’s Services staff and general staff in the understanding of childhood development, trauma and appropriate caregiving techniques for at-risk children residing at Rancho Ebenezer. They will offer consultation and support by creating treatment plans, coordinating approved services, providing training on the ministry’s CS policies and procedures, and advising the Children Services Manager of important current conditions and clinical issues relevant to the care of the children. The social worker will assess the greatest emotional and developmental needs of the children and will partner with Children’s Services staff to provide clinical care through counseling children in either a one-on-one or group setting. In addition, one of the main responsibilities of the Social Worker will be to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the children in their current placement setting. 

The essential requirements and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Essential/Key Responsibilities include: 

  •   Provide recommendations to the Children's Services Manager regarding the placement of children 
  •   Implement,  update,  monitor  and  report  to  the  Children's  Services  Manager  for  individual  treatment  plans for children as assigned 
  •   Maintain  regular  documentation  on  the  children  in  both  individual  and  group  settings.  Monitor  progress and needs 
  •   Attend  monthly  visitation,  per  requirements  of  the  Honduras  SENAF  agency  (equivalent  to  CPS),  and  keep record regarding the individual visits of each child. 
  •   Carry  out  training  and  support  strategies  for  staff  and  children  through  group  meetings,  seminars, workshops, etc. 
  •   Provide crisis intervention as needed on a 24 hr. basis 
  •   Monitor  and  document  Children’s  Home  activity.  Create  corrective  action  plans  in  collaboration  with  the Children’s Services Manager as needed 
  •   Maintain status as a full-time fundraising missionary 
  •   Pursue personal spiritual growth 

Requirement

Required Skills/Abilities include: 

  •   Be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ 
  •   Bi-lingual, speaking both Spanish and English or willing to learn 
  •   Understanding of confidentiality laws, rules and regulations 
  •   Microsoft Office and Google experience is a plus 
  •   Understanding of documentation processes and protocol 

 

Education, Experience & Other 

  •   Be a U.S. citizen 
  •   Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, child development, counseling, psychology or related field 
  •   Experience in social work or childhood education 
  •   Currently holding or able to obtain proper licensing (if applicable)
