World Gospel Outreach is looking for the right person to join our team as a member of Maintenance Operations at Rancho Ebenezer.  The Ranch Maintenance personnel  will be expected to help maintain the grounds, building and facilities at Rancho Ebenezer. This may include things like yard work, handy-man work, some construction, and basic plumbing and appliance work. No degree is required for this position but they must be able to show quality of work. A strong work ethic along with a strong faith are a must. Having a knowledge of operating heavy and routine equipment (including but not limited to: lawn mowers, weed eaters, etc.) and use of building materials is a plus. This person must be able to maintain a budget, have good people skills and be able to live on the campus of Rancho Ebenezer. This person must enjoy working with and around the youth at Rancho Ebenezer in their daily duties. Working cross culturally is part of the work at WGO, and the ability to be flexible in the needs of the ministry is required. The Maintenance Operations personnel must be functionally bi-lingual, or come ready to learn Spanish. This position is only available to fundraising North American missionaries and would work alongside the Honduran staff. 

The essential requirements and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

 

Essential/Key Responsibilities include: 

•   Maintain all outdoor equipment (such as lawnmowers and weed-eaters) 
•   Diagnose and resolve basic appliance, electrical and plumbing issues 
•   Knowledge of how to turn of main water and electricity supply 
•   Help in coordinating projects for serve teams 
•   Operate all of the Ranch’s movable equipment. Implement and follow a maintenance schedule for each one 
•   Help with basic repairs and handyman work as needed 
•   Be available to help as a mentor for children at the Ranch as needed 
•   Maintain status as a full-time fundraising missionary 
•   Pursue personal spiritual growth 

Requirement

Required Skills/Abilities include: 

•   Must be a born again believer in Jesus Christ 
•   Bi-lingual, speaking both Spanish and English fluently or willing to learn 
•   Good leadership skills, to be used in leading and directing serve teams on projects 
•   Good time management and stewardship skills 
•   Knowledge of a variety of tools, and handyman equipment 
•   Basic knowledge of appliance, electrical and plumbing 
•   Willingness to learn, adapt and grow skills to ensure all systems are in working order

 

 Education, Experience & Other 

•   Be a U.S. citizen 
•   Experience in grounds maintenance is preferred 
•   Experience working with children is preferred 
•   Prior experience with some form of handyman work required
