Position Description

Position Overview


The IT manager will establish IT policies and technological strategic solutions in support of Company’s strategic direction, security and compliance.


Duties and responsibilities


• Hire, train, and develop a team of IT professionals; communicate job expectations and conduct performance reviews
• Establish and maintain a positive, productive relationship with organization
• Analyze business requirements to provide feedback and direction for IT
• Monitor performance of IT systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
• Interact with management and staff to provide technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions
• Identify risk, need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management for decisioning
• Identify and support business continuity and disaster recovery procedures
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
• Control budget and report on expenditure
• Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
• Oversees department projects ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
• Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
• Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
• Analyze compliance requirements for various procedures and provide necessary training if required and design strategies to achieve all objectives
• Administer internal audit processes and ensure successful audit of firm
• Respond to Security Questionnaires for potential and existing clients
• Prepare reports for governance and oversight
• Positively contribute to the risk culture and overall awareness of information risk and contribute to the creation and delivery of information risk management training
• Maintains current understanding of industry standards, trends, and best practices through industry and other professional networks
• Other duties as needed or required


Supervisory Responsibilities


Directly supervises 1 -3 employees in the IT department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills


• Education and Experience – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Business, or related field plus 5 years of experience analyzing and supporting business operations
• Possesses strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of varying technical levels
• Ability to lead, prioritize, facilitate, motivate, and organize
• Ability to adapt to change
• Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems
• Ability to negotiate and settle differences quickly and peacefully
• Some work outside normal business hours and some weekends required
• May deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment
